Collection Instructions |
Stool can be collected in a sterile clean Specimen Container (grey cap cup). If available, stool can be collected in the stool collection set (Total Fix transport vial). IN LAB PROCESSING: Samples are received in the Microbiology lab and processed in the Microbiology lab. The Microbiology lab will deliver samples to the Quest send out bench in Core Lab. |
Test Usage |
Ova and Parasites with Giardia Antigen - This test may be useful to physicians whose patients live in or have traveled to an area where mixed parasitic infections occur or where Giardia incidence is not high, but is still present. The addition of the Giardia antigen EIA test assures maximum sensitivity in detecting this agent. |
